My Week Favorites

Life has been really rough the last couple weeks and I know it will continue to be. I want to enjoy my days and the time I have with my family. I have faith that life will be better, that things will change. I just worry that I am too weak to make it through until then, to continue working full time while being a mom and a wife.

My friend Rebecca posted her thoughts on the article "The Best Is Yet To Be" by Elder Holland. In this talk Elder Holland stated that "every day ought to be the start of a new year and a new life."

I have decided that I need to start writing down what I am grateful for. Right now I am beginning to not be as appreciative as I should be. So I am going to follow the wonderful example of my friend Monique and start writing my own version of her "Friday Favorites."

My Week Favorites:

1) Angela and I got to go outside and play on our playground for the first time ever. She loved being in the baby swing watching the dogs play in the yard.

2) Brad took time off of work so I wouldn't have to use up my remaining 4 hours of PTO this week.

3) Brad is starting to feel better and it looks like Angela and I may have made it through without getting sick.

4) The days are getting warmer and I love that my dogs come in the house covered in grass from playing outside.

5) Angela took a 2 hour nap for me yesterday, a true faith building experience.

6) I actually started to read a novel last night. I am excited to rekindle my love of reading for pleasure, something I lost about 10 years ago.

7) I got to talk to my mom and dad for quite a while on Tuesday. It's been too long since we've talked like that.

8) My sister an I found some time to email each other, I love how grown up she has become.

9) Angela is secretly crawling, she wont do it when we are around, but when we step out of the room she moves several feet. I am excited we are so close to her crawling.

10) My husband doesn't mind having scrambled eggs for dinner when I don't feel up to cooking.

I am grateful for someone who loves our baby to watch her. I am grateful for accommodating bosses at work who help us with our crazy schedules. I am grateful for a selfless husband who is willing to go through this experience with me.

I am grateful for my life, for my wonderful daughter and how incredible she is doing, for my amazing husband who is so patient and understanding, and for my dogs who run in and out of my day breaking up stressful or monotonous moments, and for a loving family. I have so much to be grateful for, sometimes I need to just stop and take a moment to recognize it all.
