Nondiscrimination Ordinances

http://newsroom.lds.org/ldsnewsroom/eng/news-releases-stories/church-supports-nondiscrimination-ordinances

Today I read this article and the news reports associated with it and was confused. I was confused because I know that same-sex marriage is wrong and those who are in same-sex relationships are not following the will of God. So in my mind I thought why would you support anything that gives power to people in that situation?

I emailed Brad the article and explained my confusion. He took a moment and responded saying that "We don't believe that you should discriminate anybody, that doesn't mean you agree with their views, but this was talking about housing rights and employment rights, that you can't be discriminated because of those beliefs. We don't believe that they were born that way, it was a choice that they made, and as an individual they are still people and children of God. "

I love my husband and am so grateful for his wisdom and insight. Of course. Every person on this earth no matter what they do, or what choices they make, or what they say is a child of God. We should love and care for them no matter what. While I do not support some of the decisions they have made, it does not mean that I should disrespect them or allow them to be disrespected.
