Fathers and Sons: A Remarkable Relationship

I always love reading the Priesthood Session as I feel its another great grouping of knowledge that I have to wait to receive. Brad comes home and tries to give me a summary, but I love reading it on my own.

The first talk given was by Elder M. Russell Ballard titled Fathers and Sons: A Remarkable Relationship. This is a great talk for fathers and sons, but as well as anyone in any age varying relationship.

I loved how Elder Ballard said that "We are all in the process of becoming who we will one day be. " I know I get stuck sometimes in absolute end all thinking. For example ... I'm boring, I am out of shape ... etc. That is perhaps true, but only in this moment. We are ever evolving and that is why Repentance is so beautiful, because it can really change who we are and help us to become "the real you." I know that there is a higher me that I am striving to be and its out there for me to reach.

Elder Ballard also braved the subject of premarital sex and stated that "Studies show that the biggest deterrent to casual sexual activity is a wholesome attitude that connects such personal relationships with genuine commitment and mature love."

I wish more people realized that sex is supposed to be an expression of love between a man and a woman in a loving, committed, and sealed relationship. It is meant to be so much more than just a physical act, but a truly godlike experience. Satan has made it so trashy, and it is so sad that we as a population accept it in that light. It breaks my heart, I can't image what it does to Heavenly Father and Mother.
